Walker is really enjoying swimming now and loves the water. Last night he just kept on wanting to put his head under the water and “swim” by himself. I have my hands full just trying to keep him above water!
He still needs to work on kicking when under the water and he doesn’t like floating, so we need to work on those things….But other than that he’s doing great!
We’re almost done with the Infant Swim class (we just have one more day left) and then we move onto Baby Swim, which is just once a week.

Every Tuesday morning I always pray that the garbage men are running on time, because as soon as walker hears the trucks coming down the street he will instantly pop out of bed and want to get ready as soon as possible so that he can get outside and see them! Thats the easiest day to get him out of bed.
Yesterday I gave him some toy binoculars (thanks for the swag Sony!) he loves them and this morning he used them to watch the trash truck come down the street.

I told Walker that Halloween was coming up and asked him what he wanted to be. He said He wanted to be a Monster. A Blue Monster. Then he said that he wanted me to be a Penquin, and for Mommy to be a Hat.

I woke up this morning to Walker singing me “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Poopies” (to the tune of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, of course.) He was cracking himself up.

For the past 2 weeks Walker has been potty training. He’s been going pee-pee on the potty at school pretty much everyday. But we hadn’t been able to get him to go at home. He would sit down and “try” but…nothing.
Tonight, when I got home from work we were able to coax him into trying again by reminding him that he’d get to pick out a toy (he has a bucket full of wrapped toys that he gets to choose from whenever he attempts going potty). He went into the bathroom and sat down on his Elmo Potty. After waiting about a minute I heard him starting to pee. I looked down and sure enough, he was peeing! I said, “hey buddy, you’re doing it! You’re going Pee-Pee!” and then he said “Yeah! It works!” I told him to tell Mommy, who was sitting in the other room, and he yelled “Mommy, it works!”
We were all very happy and excited. He picked out his toy and unwrapped it. It was a package of Thomas the Train Stickers. He was happy and he put a sticker on Mommy and Daddy’s shirts and then one on his.

Walker had an awesome day at swim class the other day. He did so great!!
We started off by reviewing what we had learned in the previous class; wall walking, kicking, going under water, and floating on their backs. He did real well with everything, although we need to work on the floating quite a bit more.
Then we started doing some new things. First we sat them on the edge of the pool and held their hands and sang “Humpty Dumpty” and when we got to the “…had a great fall” part of the song we pulled them into the water and had them go under real quick. Walker did real good at this and didn’t get upset or anything. He actually smiled a few times, especially when he’d look over and see the other kids doing it.
After that we did the same thing but with them standing and jumping into the pool! He completely LOVED this one! right after he popped his head back up out of the water he immediately pointed to the edge of the pool and wanted to go back and do it again!
He stood up there smiling and laughing and kept on jumping in. Thats all he wanted to do for the rest of the class!
It was really cool to see him having fun in the pool and gaining confidence in the water. I was really proud of him.
We’re both looking forward to tomorrows class.

Walker started swim class today. Unfortunately we completely missed it because Daddy was stuck in traffic for 2 1/2 hours!
But we didn’t let that stop us. We headed over to our pool and practiced his kicking and holding on to the edge. He had a really good time. He’s really enjoying the water a lot now. He didn’t even cry or want to leave when he fell down a couple of times, in the little kiddie pool, and got most of his head under the water.
Our next swim class is on wednesday. Hopefully we make that one.

This weekend we drove out with Grandma to Perris to celebrate Christian’s first birthday. Walker loved playing in the pool with Daddy and his cousins. Now all Walker asks for is his own birthday party. He’ll have to wait a little bit more to have another.

mmm birthday cake

Looking for a good spot with frosting.
The ladies cooling off.
Watching Uncle Steve put the dump truck together. Walker brought his tools to assist.

Everyone naps on daddy.

This photo was taken a few weeks back when we were all enjoying an ice cream treat. Walker sure loves those drumstick ice cream cones, just like his mommy.
Yum
